I bet you guessed already what my answer is to that question ^. But just in case you're still not sure I'm going to tell you. YESSSSSSSSSSS beauty has the potential and does cause environmental destruction. Now you're probably wondering how in the world can something that isn't even, well let me put it this way, an object(?) hurt the environment. Okay, so the term "beauty" isn't an object but beauty ---- BLOG POST UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!
What is the difference between testing on animals and testing on humans? (HINT: There is no difference)Disclaimer: That is a picture of my face smeared with make-up to give the effect of irritation and pain. The rabbit on the left is a animal that was used for animal testing in a cosmetic laboratory that tested a substance in the animals eyes to find out whether it would cause irritation. Since taking my own photos I actually have been experiencing pain in my own eyes, and slight dryness and irritation despite being careful not to get any of the make-up in my eye while applying or taking it off. They say animal testing makes our products safe? But are they really? Have you ever suffered from irritation form eyeliner, mascara, or any other forms of make-up? I know that my eyes are super sensitive to any eyeliners so I do not wear them. I wonder if those products are actually safe? If they hurt animals they most certainly will hurt humans. I've always wondering why cosmetic companies and scientists could just figure out how to make products out of substances that we know are not harmful (i.e., oils, fruit juices, vegetable juices (to make stains), powders, etc., etc.) instead of using already assumed dangerous chemicals for products on our faces. Frontally there are many companies already finding ways to do so but they are not as popular as Mac, Maybelline, Cover Girl, and other popular companies. The reason why the cruelty free and non-harmful companies are not as popular is because of us. Basically we support companies by buying their products which sustain the demand. When we purchase the products we are indirectly telling the companies that we support them using toxic chemicals that are harmful to our health and we support the cruelty that they enact on poor innocent animals. Now, don't get mad at me just yet! I am NOT blaming you! I'm equally as quality as feeding into the lies these companies tell us and supporting them by using their products. However, I decided to stop. I either do not buy make-up at all (which is the case at the moment) or I will buy products that are environmentally and human safe, without animal testing. We can FIGHT back against these companies in multiple ways depending on how brave you personally are! Here are my two options!
1) Stop wearing make-up = not purchasing and supporting companies that harm animals and humans = not harming yourself in the process = defying societies beauty standards = one kiss ass internally confident person who doesn't care what everyone else thinks and wants to save our world! 2) Stop purchasing make-up from big companies + buying from local companies or smaller companies that produce animal safe and human safe products = not supporting companies that test on animals and harm humans = helping cute furry animals + helping your overall help = probably someone who knows how to apply make-up and ROCKS it = a kiss ass individual that is changing the world by making environmentally friendly, animal safe and human face beauty choices. No matter what option you choose (but of course choosing one of these) you're still being a KISS ASS human that cares about animals your health and is changing the world one lipstick tube at a time!! If you can't even look at it, imagine how the animals feel...DON'T TURN AWAY FROM THIS REALITY! IF YOU ARE USING PRODUCTS THAT TEST ON ANIMALS YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM & YOU NEED TO KNOW THE PAIN YOU ARE CAUSINGIS YOUR LIFE WORTH MORE THAN THEIRS? IS YOUR BEAUTY MORE IMPORTANT THAN A LIFE?These are the questions you need to ask before you support companies that test their products on living beings. Is this fair? Do you feel ethical using products that kill living beings for your own selfishness? IS it REALLY necessary? Do cosmetics really contribute so much to our lives that an animals death becomes meaningless to you? There are many Vegan/ Cruelty free products on the market that DO NOT test on animals and are SAFE for you because they DO NOT use harmful or potentially toxic chemicals!! I put these words in bold lettering because I am trying to make a point that is loud and clear. YES it may be offensive to some people when their habits are called into question and they might unknowingly be causing violence and harm to innocent animals. However, I am trying to make you uncomfortable in order for you to stop using products that test on animals and to fight back against this indecencies ! I am not a saint and I too have had to ask myself the same questions that I am challenging you with. I too have used and still have products in my room that test on animals. I was not aware when purchasing these products however the extent to which these animals are harmed, but now that I do I feel a responsibility to not continue to add onto their suffering. Because of this project I've decided to get rid of all my products in my room that have tested on animals or at least to use them up and not continue to purchase them. We are only human! We all make mistakes and most often uninformed mistakes. Many people are unaware of the harms that they cause by supporting companies that test on animals. But when you are aware of it and continue to support them you are now the problem as well. We can all make conscious decisions to lessen our impact on the environment and animals but it all starts with our willingness to become educated on the topic and to do everything in our power to stop the cruelty! Please join me in this movement! Go through your products in your room and bathrooms and find out if they are tested on animals! If they do not have the symbol of the leaping bunny or specifically state they are NOT tested on animals, they most likely are! I challenge you to do a little research of your own and look for products that are free of toxins and cruelty free!!
